EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt has revealed that quitting drinking is the secret behind his incredible weight loss transformation.
The star, who plays Ian Beale on the popular BBC soap opera, has lost more than three pounds in the past year – and says he now drinks nothing “stronger than coffee” and regularly rides a bicycle as part of his new style of drinking. healthy life.
Speaking to The Mirror, Adam said: “I basically stopped drinking alcohol. This was the biggest change I made.
“By giving up alcohol, the weight decreases and as the weight has decreased it has been easier to ride a bike. So it was easier to keep fit ”.
Despite the huge impact quitting alcohol has had on his weight loss, Adam added that he didn’t make “a big fuss,” saying, “Everyone is different. For me, quitting drinking was the right thing to do.
“I’m not going to turn around and say it’s all forever, that I will never drink again.
“But at this point in my life, yes, I’m happy enough not to drink. And the result is that I have lost about three kilos of weight “.
The actor had already talked about his weight loss journey, after being introduced to cycling by EastEnders co-star Jake Wood, describing the exercise as an extraordinary “escape from reality” after a difficult year.
Adam recently divorced his wife Beverly Sharp, whom he married in 1998 and with whom he has two children.
He also explained in his interview with Mirror that he feels “100% better”, with the star spending most of his life outdoors while traveling around the UK in his campervan between tour dates for the stage production. Looking Good Dead.

Adam previously told viewers of ITV’s Good Morning Britain how I’m A Celeb was his “new start”.
He said: “It was just an escape from reality. You left the world behind. It was peace and quiet. There was nothing they threw at me that I couldn’t do. I loved it ”.
However, it has not yet been confirmed whether Adam will return to Albert Square, despite rumors of a new £ 300,000 deal for the actor to renew his contract with EastEnders.
